The Wickham Hotel in Brisbane was built in 1885, originally named the Oriental Hotel and designed by architect Richard Gailey. It has undergone various ownership changes and renovations, but its history is defined by its long-standing support for the LGBTQIA+ community, a role it has played since the 1970s. Today, it is a heritage-listed venue known for its role as a gay-friendly bar and a vibrant entertainment spot.
