The Eight Mile Plains Hotel, which is now known as The Glen Hotel, began as Baker’s Hotel in 1865. It became an important stop for Cobb and Co coaches  before being renamed The Glen in 1927 by its Scottish owners, and has undergone several modernisations over the years.
