Collection: The Redbrick Hotel: Woolloongabba
The Redbrick Hotel, originally built in 1890 as Burke’s Hotel, was established to serve travellers along the busy Boggo Road route. Designed by prominent Brisbane architects John Hall & Son, it became a well-known local landmark in Woolloongabba. Later nicknamed “The Red Brick”—a reference to the red ten‑pound notes used by bookmakers—the hotel has remained a significant social venue, retaining much of its nineteenth-century character.
